European Thermophysics Award

The ECTP introduced in 1984 the European Thermophysics Award for lifetime achievement in thermophysics. This has been awarded to professors Erich Fitzer (1986), Francois Cabannes (1988), Raymond Taylor (1990), Giuseppe Ruffino (1993), Hans-Eberhard Schmidt (1996) and Roy Taylor (1999).

We are pleased to announce that the recipient of the 2002 award is Dr Kosta Maglic, who is honoured for his outstanding contributions to research on the thermophysical properties of matter and to promoting the dissemination of knowledge through the European Conferences.

Netzsch Young Scientist Award

The ECTP introduced in 1996 the Netzsch Thermophysical Properties Award for Young Scientists, the first recipient being Dr Steffen Rudtsch (1999).

We are pleased to announce that the recipient of the 2002 award is Dr Brian Monaghan, formerly of NPL and now at Wollongong University, Australia.
